On this week’s show I talk about a bunch of writing tools that I’ve been working with lately:
Writing is a big part of what we do here, whether it’s ebooks, blog posts, strategic marketing plans or brochure copy, so it’s imperative that we have great writing tools.
This week I tried out GatherContent, which was pretty much this inspiration for this section of the show. I liked it a lot, but as I discuss on the show, it just didn’t have the ease of functionality that we need. Yes, it’s got some great features that tap into our need for editorial calendars, scheduling and sign-off from clients. But we use Asana to do that already and GatherContent was so clunky to integrate with WordPress, it wasn’t enough to jump ship – just yet !
Email marketing best practice
I really enjoyed a post over at Conversion XL this week on email marketing. Two things really jumped out at me: the use of personalisation, and how so many of us are reading email on mobile devices. I discuss the implications of this on the podcast.
Finally, check out Blogvault if you need to keep reliable back-ups of your wordpress site. Blogvault is also great for transferring sites between domains, such as a dev site and live site.
