It’s essential that you stop obsessing, for a moment, about the way you look, and put the focus on what you actually have to say.
Or to put it another, great digital marketing isn’t just about having a great website, it’s also about having great content.
And here at Moondog we believe it’s about you having better content.
No matter what your site looks like (within reason!), if you’re providing something interesting, informative, engaging, and that really captures the attention of your target audience, you’ll do better online.
Looks aren’t everything
We’ve got to the point, I think, where so much focus is being put on appearance that as businesses looking to market ourselves online, we’re losing sight of the value of genuinely good content.
No matter how great your website looks, if it doesn’t contain the right messaging with your copy, the right kind of content that speaks to your target audience, you’re not really going to get past a cursory glance.
If your news and/or blog updates are all about you and not aligned with your audience, there’s a big risk your posts will fall on deaf ears.
Going above and beyond
This week’s podcast is very much a call-to-arms. It’s a plea to you to stop worrying for a moment about the way your website looks, acts or feels to the user, and instead put more effort into your content creation.
Blogs, photo-essays, videos, ebooks, podcasts, GIFs. It doesn’t matter what, as long as it’s aligned with your target audience.
Sure, you need to work at distributing your content online, promoting it across social media channels where your business is active; however, creating the content in the first place is important.
This week, here’s what I’m creating
I’m not just overseeing client work, this week. I’m also working on finishing an ebook. Yup, I’m working on an ebook for kitchen design companies.
And, no, it’s not a 2-pager. It’s a bit of a monster book to be honest, packed with useful information I believe our clients in the kitchen design industry need to know about.
That’s part of Moondog’s commitment to content this week. That’s my homework, what’s yours ?
What kind of content are you creating for your potential customers this week ?
